Born and raised on Long Island, Tony Caligure opened the first Ocean Outboard facility in Merrick in 1984. By the end of the decade, the location had a reputation for service excellence island-wide. Those who knew Tony weren't surprised. He has a history of delivering exceptional performance, both as a businessman and a racer. While he was putting Ocean Outboard's name on the map, he was also becoming a six time offshore powerboat champion, setting a record in Florida for average course speed along the way. (101 MPH over a 180 mile span). The same winning spirit led to numerous sales and service awards for Ocean as well.
